Product Details
This whisky was created to honor the heroic act of the Mackenzie clan chief, who saved King Alexander III from a charging stag in 1263. This history granted The Dalmore the right to use the '12-pointed Royal Stag' emblem and inspired Richard Paterson to create this world-renowned six-cask finish. By expertly blending whiskies from Bourbon, Sherry, Madeira, Marsala, Port, and Red Wine casks, King Alexander III stands as the ultimate testament to the art of blending.

The Dalmore distillery is located on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Its brand symbol, the 'Royal Stag', dates back to 1263 when the chief of the Mackenzie clan saved the King during a hunt. When the Mackenzie family took over the distillery in 1867, they adorned every bottle with this emblem of honor.
King Alexander III is the flagship of the core collection. Master Distiller Richard Paterson, known as 'The Nose', believes a single cask cannot fully express a whisky's potential. He meticulously selected top-tier casks from Europe and America, including Spanish Matusalem Sherry, French Cabernet Sauvignon, and Portuguese Port and Madeira casks. Each cask adds a unique soul: Bourbon brings vanilla, Sherry adds dried fruits, and Red Wine provides delicate tannins. This non-age-statement whisky pursues a balance beyond time, making it an essential collection for connoisseurs.
