A Blended Malt Whisky dominated by the now-closed Imperial distillery, supplemented by a small amount of first-fill sherry casks from a 'distillery near Aberlour'.
The concept behind the Magic Cask is a return to basics. Unlike most other Compass Box creations that blend various distilleries, this whisky uses a core whisky (Imperial) blended with just one other cask—which Compass Box calls the 'Magic Cask'. This Speyside Magic Cask was aged for one year in a first-fill bourbon barrel before being finished for three years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt.

Ripe plum, a touch of chocolatey malt and something subtle herbaceous wafts.
Palate:
Fragrant vanilla, peaches and cream, soft oak, cinnamon.
