Product Details
Clynelish 14 Years Old is a quintessential representative of Highland single malts. Its famous beeswax texture stems from the distillery's unique distillation process, which imparts a superb oiliness and body to the spirit. This whisky perfectly balances fresh fruit, subtle smoke, and a touch of maritime saltiness. Notably, it received a high score of 88 points on the professional site Whiskyfun in 2019, making it a top choice for seasoned drinkers as a daily 'go-to' dram.

The history of Clynelish (pronounced: Klay-ne-lish) dates back to 1819, founded by the Duke of Sutherland. Located in the northern Highland town of Brora, the distillery features a Highland wildcat on its label—the family crest of the Duke of Sutherland.
Clynelish is world-renowned for its 'waxy' mouthfeel, which is no accident. During distillation, the distillery intentionally retains sediment in the low wines receiver. These oil-rich substances are said to create the smooth, waxy characteristic that cannot be easily imitated. Even during modern renovations, the process was kept identical to preserve this precious flavor heritage.
For a long time, most Clynelish spirit was used as the heart of Johnnie Walker blends (especially the Gold Label). As such, Official Bottlings (OB) of the single malt are relatively rare. The 14 Years Old serves as the pillar of their core range, showcasing pure Highland lineage—combining inland sweetness with a hint of northern maritime saltiness.
