Product Details

The Chita Single Grain Whisky is produced at the Chita Distillery on the Chita Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture. Suntory's Master Blenders use grain whiskies matured in bourbon, Spanish oak, and wine casks to craft this delicate, silky-smooth expression. It is an essential component of the iconic 'Hibiki' blend, now showcased as a single grain to reveal its unique, serene charm.

Read more about the product story

Established in 1972, the Chita Distillery was founded by the Suntory Group to pursue a wider variety of grain spirits. Focusing on grain whisky production, the distillery utilizes unique continuous distillation to produce 'clean', 'medium', and 'heavy' grain spirits. For decades, Chita grain whiskies were the hidden heart of 'Hibiki' and 'Suntory Kakubin' until the Chita brand was officially launched independently.

Described as 'the serenity of Japanese beauty', the calligraphy on the label was created by Tansetsu Ogino, set against traditional Washi paper to reflect Suntory's respect for tradition and innovation. Due to its pure character, Chita pairs excellently with meals, enhancing seafood or Japanese cuisine without overpowering the flavors. It is a refreshing surprise for both Japanese whisky newcomers and seasoned connoisseurs seeking a light profile.
