Online tasting note for reference:
Nose: The nose opens with a blast of coffee, one of the most distinctive coffee aromas detected, freshly ground, brewed and mixed with a little caramel syrup. There's also some burnt treacle, tarmac, well fired morning rolls and a little burnt rubber. Some form of red berry, red currant in the background but hidden behind punchy, nutty oloroso aromas. A bit of spice, well integrated with the cask and spirit.
Palate: The palate opens with red berries, fresher and zingier than the nose, quickly moving into warmer, richer flavours of walnuts, burnt caramel, coffee and treacle. A foostiness/mustiness lingers on the finish, along with flakes of sea salt and high percentage bitter chocolate. Thick mouthfeel like well made caramel, with caramel flavour developing as you continue to sip. Warm alcohol spice sits on the palate but other flavours stand up to it well.
Finish: Foostiness/mustiness lingers, with flakes of sea salt and high percentage bitter chocolate.
