Benromach has undergone several closures and reconstructions, finally being acquired by G&M in 1993 with the aim of reviving their perceived traditional Speyside flavour - emphasizing fruitiness alongside a light smoky peat.
It utilizes their consistently used 1st fill casks, offering considerable value for an entry-level dram.
P.S. For those interested in Benromach, you can visit their official website for an overview of their production process, including an introduction and short video.

Master of Malt tasting notes reference-
Nose-
Dry, barley, big on malt and oak. Dry pine, fruity. A tad spirity. Sweet spices after a time and a hint of puckering prune from the sherry cask and maple fudge.
Palate-
Barley, slightly herbal, a little fruit, grassy. Big on malt, ground ginger.
Finish-
Mouthwateringly bittersweet. Ginger, dry sherry, almost hoppy after a while.
