The Arran Distillery (now known as Lochranza Distillery) is located at the northern tip of the beautiful Isle of Arran on Scotland's west coast. Founded in 1995 by industry legend Harold Currie, the distillery aimed to revive the island's rich 19th-century distilling tradition. As one of only two legal distilleries on the island, Arran remains independent, allowing them to focus on quality and traditional craftsmanship without the commercial constraints of large spirits groups.
This 10 Years Old expression has been the core pillar of the distillery since 2006. Its water source, Loch na Davie, provides pure mountain water filtered through peat and granite, lending a soft foundation to the whisky. The distillery employs long fermentation times and slow distillation to capture the elegant, delicate esters that define Arran's famous fruity character.
Notably, the whisky received a packaging redesign in 2019, featuring bottles engraved with two golden eagles—a symbol of the eagles that nest above the distillery.
