Read more about the story
anCnoc is produced at the Knockdhu Distillery in Aberdeenshire. While the distillery is named Knockdhu (Gaelic for 'Black Hill'), the single malt has been branded as anCnoc (meaning 'The Hill') since 1994 to distinguish it from the Knockando brand.
Since its founding by John Morrison in 1894, Knockdhu has remained faithful to traditional methods. This 12-year-old expression is the heart of the brand, embodying a 'modern traditional' style. The distillery uses two traditional bulbous stills and maintains old-fashioned worm tubs for cooling, a rare process that gives the spirit a unique, full-bodied texture while preserving the signature Highland lightness.
Tasting anCnoc 12 Years Old reveals a silky mouthfeel and refreshing aroma, the result of slow distillation and carefully selected second-fill American oak casks. It eschews heavy peat in favor of delicate floral fruitiness and warm spice balance. This is more than just a bottle of whisky; it is a tribute to the pure terroir and century-old craftsmanship of the Scottish Highlands.
