The Aberlour distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, founded by James Fleming in 1879. Its name means 'mouth of the chattering burn' in Gaelic, symbolizing its location by the Lour River, whose pure water is the soul of its exceptional whisky.
'a'bunadh' means 'the original' or 'of the origin' in Gaelic. This expression was inspired by a legendary discovery: in 1898, during distillery renovations, workers found a bottle of whisky wrapped in newspaper hidden in the walls.
