Upholding Pot Still Heritage and Rare Ceramic Decanter Expression
The inaugural release, Distillery Series: Triple Pot Still, was distilled entirely using the three copper pot stills at the Woodford Reserve distillery. While most American whiskeys are produced using column stills, the distillery has defined its distinct character through pot distillation since its inception, showcasing the robust and complex flavor profile unique to this historic facility.
The second commemorative bottling features a bespoke ceramic decanter crafted by Louisville Stoneware, filled with a Double Oaked Single Barrel personally selected by Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. This ceramic decanter bourbon is strictly limited to just 150 bottles.
Brand Evolution and Leadership Succession
Elizabeth McCall was appointed Master Distiller in February 2023, becoming the third Master Distiller in brand history and the first woman to hold the position, succeeding Chris Morris, who transitioned to Master Distiller Emeritus. McCall noted that since its founding, the brand has captivated consumers with its signature bottle silhouette and over 200 distinct flavor notes, growing into the world's best-selling super-premium American whiskey while maintaining strong momentum both domestically and internationally.
Since debuting in October 1996, Woodford Reserve has elevated bourbon into the luxury spirits tier by pairing traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation. Based in Versailles, Kentucky, the historic distillery site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2000 and officially renamed the Woodford Reserve Distillery in 2005, standing as the oldest recognized operating distillery in Kentucky.
