TLDC Unveils London's First 10-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky

A New Era for London Whisky: The First Ten-Year Masterpiece

The London Distillery Company (TLDC) has announced the official release of Ten Times Around the Sun on February 27. This is not only a major milestone for the distillery but also the first single malt to reach a 10-year age statement in the modern London whisky revival. With only 220 bottles available, this rare release signals a new era for the London spirits industry.

Exquisite Craftsmanship and Purity

Distilled from Quench spring barley, the spirit was filled into a single ex-bourbon barrel (#007) on October 20, 2015. Bottled at 51.4% ABV, the whisky is non-chill-filtered with natural color, ensuring enthusiasts experience the most authentic flavors and character of the spirit.

Distillery Revival and the Legacy of Cask #007

Founded in 2011, TLDC was the first new whisky distillery in London since the closure of Lea Valley Distillery in 1903. Originally located in Battersea, the distillery earned acclaim for blending tradition with innovation. Although operations paused in 2019, the brand was revived in 2025. Cask #007 miraculously survived the hiatus, serving as a witness to the growth of the English whisky industry over the last decade and imbuing this release with profound historical significance.

TLDC managing director and whisky maker Matt McKay noted that Ten Times Around the Sun is a defining moment for the brand, honoring the distillery's original spirit and its place in London's whisky history. The packaging art, inspired by the 10-year maturation process, visually represents ten orbits around the sun, symbolizing the depth and complexity accumulated over time.
