Teeling Releases 7th Sommelier Selection Rioja Cask Whiskey

Exploring Premium Terroir: A Symphony of Irish Whiskey and Spanish Rioja

The world's most awarded Irish whiskey brand, Teeling Whiskey, has officially launched the seventh release in its Sommelier Selection: Rioja Red Wine Cask Finish. The core philosophy of this series is to explore the influence of the world's finest wine regions on whiskey flavor, following previous explorations of French and Italian casks. This time, the distillery finished its flagship Small Batch whiskey in hand-selected Rioja red wine casks from Northern Spain, perfectly marrying Irish whiskey character with Spanish winemaking style.

This new expression is bottled at 46% ABV and remains non-chill filtered to preserve its original character. Known for rich fruit aromas and fine tannin structure, Rioja wine infuses the whiskey with vibrant red fruits, subtle spice, and soft tannins. The nose offers strawberry jam, cherry, delicate cinnamon, and caramel sweetness, while the palate intertwines layers of dark berries, butterscotch, and black pepper, finishing with a long, luxurious tail of honey and dark chocolate with a slight mineral touch.

Reviving Dublin Tradition: Teeling’s Global Vision

Founder Jack Teeling stated that this series continues to push the boundaries of Irish whiskey. Since its founding in 2012, the Teeling Whiskey Company has been dedicated to reviving the Dublin distilling tradition, opening the city's first new distillery in 125 years in 2015. With over 650 international awards to date, this new release will be available in key markets including Ireland, France, Singapore, and Japan, showcasing its leadership in craft spirits.
