SMWS 呈獻冬日佳釀系列 慶祝萬聖節與聖誕佳節

SMWS Unveils Winter Whiskies Celebrating Festive Seasons

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society SMWS is launching its new "Winter Series", comprising four limited single cask single malt Scotch whiskies inspired by seasonal celebrations ranging from Halloween to Burns Night. These whiskies are adorned with specially designed labels, celebrating Halloween, Christmas, Hogmanay (Scottish New Year), and Burns Night (Robert Burns Night).

The "Spirit of Hallowe’en" from this series is the first release, an 11-year-old peated whisky matured in a second-fill American oak PX hogshead cask, offering smoky, medicinal flavors reminiscent of sausage, smoked cheese, and eucalyptus lozenges. Following this is "Mistletoe and Whisky", a 13-year-old whisky matured in a second-fill Spanish oak cask, bringing festive cheer. To mark Hogmanay, SMWS presents "We’ll take a cup of kindness yet", a 13-year-old whisky matured in a first-fill Bourbon hogshead cask. The final expression, for Burns Night, is "Sing thy name!", also 13 years old and matured in a first-fill Bourbon barrel cask.

Euan Campbell, SMWS's Spirits Creative Director, stated, "Winter is when whisky truly comes alive, and our Winter Series has selected a collection of whiskies that are intended to capture those special moments that bring people together over a good dram." He hopes each whisky will guide tasters on a flavorful journey through the colder months.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is an international members club dedicated to bottling and selling single cask single malt Scotch whisky, focusing on unique cask characteristics rather than distillery provenance. Since its establishment in Edinburgh in 1983, the organization has been committed to discovering the distinct flavor profiles of individual casks.

To coincide with the release of this series, SMWS will also host a series of Halloween-themed tasting events at its venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
