Mount Gay Rum Launches Exceptionally Aged Collection

Three Centuries of Bajan Soul: A Generational Masterpiece by the Master Blender

Mount Gay Rum has announced the launch of the all-new Exceptionally Aged Collection, featuring two limited-edition high-age releases. This collection pays tribute to the vision of past Master Blenders who laid the foundations decades ago. Both rums were entirely distilled, aged, blended, and bottled at the St Lucy distillery in Barbados, matured exclusively in ex-Bourbon casks to showcase the distillery's 320-year heritage.

Mount Gay Exceptionally Aged 15 Year Old

Mount Gay Exceptionally Aged 15 Year Old is a testament to generational transition. Initially crafted by former Master Blender Jerry Edwards using a single column still, it was later monitored by Allen Smith and finally brought to maturity under current Master Blender Trudiann Branker. It features aromas of grapefruit and caramel, a palate of butterscotch, cocoa nibs, and red grapes, finishing with a hint of sea salt.

Mount Gay Exceptionally Aged 25 Year Old

The Mount Gay Exceptionally Aged 25 Year Old represents a quarter-century of expertise from three masters. Distilled in 1999, it has developed profound layers of vanilla, red fruit, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it reveals cinnamon, toasted nuts, and gingerbread. This series embodies the distillery's commitment to traditional craftsmanship and the unique tropical aging profile of Barbados.

Master Blender Trudiann Branker noted that ex-Bourbon casks were chosen to showcase the strength and complexity of the spirit, honoring the distillery's 320-year history. These limited releases are highly collectible: only 4,942 bottles of the 15 Year Old and 2,376 bottles of the 25 Year Old are available worldwide.
