Maker's Mark Launches 2026 Cellar Aged Bourbon

Fourth Annual Limited Edition Arrives, Combining Limestone Terroir and Exquisite Aging Philosophy

Renowned Kentucky bourbon distillery Maker's Mark has officially announced the release of its highly anticipated fourth annual Cellar Aged limited series—Maker's Mark Cellar Aged 2026 Release. This cask strength Kentucky bourbon is bottled at 56% ABV, featuring a blend of 49% 11-year-old, 33% 12-year-old, and 18% 14-year-old bourbons. True to their philosophy of "maturing by taste, not time," the distillery utilizes extended aging to further elevate the signature characteristics of the Cellar Aged collection, revealing deeper layers of complexity and richness.

This new expression delivers an unmistakable Maker's Mark profile with a rich and well-structured palate. The aroma weaves together dark cherry, clove, vanilla bean, and soft orchard fruit notes in a progressive evolution. On the palate, luscious notes of honey, brown sugar, and ripe plum unfold, transitioning into a warm, silky finish accented by subtle hints of almond, nutmeg, and crisp green apple for a long, balanced tasting experience.

The Perfect Interweaving of Natural Terroir and Cool Underground Cellars

Managing Director and 8th Generation Whisky Maker Rob Samuels noted that the limestone strata surrounding Star Hill Farm has profoundly shaped the distillery's unique bourbon profile since his grandparents, Margie and Bill Samuels Sr., selected the site in 1953 for its pristine water source and natural watershed. Decades later, the distillery constructed a LEED-certified underground cellar within that very limestone, allowing the spirit to age longer while maintaining its classic balance, fully demonstrating the profound impact of natural terroir on whisky flavor.

Master Distiller Dr. Blake Layfield also pointed out that the Cellar Aged series represents the flavor results achieved through patience, precision craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of whisky evolution. After aging in traditional warehouses, the spirit is transferred to the cool limestone cellar, preserving barrel balance while accentuating fruit-forward characteristics. This expression will debut in select US markets on September 1, followed by a global rollout to the UK, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and Global Travel Retail markets starting late this year through 2027, offering a unique flavor celebration to enthusiasts worldwide.
