Macallan collaborates with JING to launch latest Harmony Collection featuring tea-inspired sustainable packaging
Macallan recently introduced the latest installment of its Harmony Collection, collaborating with British tea brand JING to craft two limited-edition single malt whiskies inspired by rare teas, highlighting a fusion of whisky and tea cultures.
The first release draws inspiration from the rare Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea from China’s Phoenix Mountain, primarily aged in sherry casks, offering notes of summer peaches, tropical fruits, and toffee. The second whisky is based on JING’s reinterpretation of Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea, a British cherrywood-smoked tea, imparting rich toffee, dates, and ripe berry flavors from European sherry cask maturation. It will debut exclusively in international travel retail on October 1.
Notably, the collection continues Harmony’s commitment to sustainability, with packaging made from recycled tea leaves, transforming agricultural byproducts into luxurious materials. Macallan’s Creative Director Jaume Ferras emphasized that this collaboration reflects the shared natural essence and artisanal traditions of whisky and tea.
Following partnerships with Cirque du Soleil and the Roca brothers, Macallan once again explores cross-cultural creativity through the Harmony Collection. The two whiskies have ABVs of 43.9% and 44.9%, respectively, with the first already available in select UK markets since August 5 and the second reserved for travel retail.
