Knob Creek 9 Year Independence Edition: US 250th Anniversary
The Blue Wax Legend: Knob Creek Honors America's 250th Anniversary
James B. Beam Distilling Co. has officially released Knob Creek 9 Year Old: Independence Edition, a limited-edition bourbon designed to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. This landmark release joins a commemorative collection alongside Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark, breaking a long-standing brand tradition. For the first time in Knob Creek's history, the signature black wax seal has been replaced with a deep blue, paired with a patriotic red, white, and blue label to honor the glory and historical value of the American Semiquincentennial.
Inheriting Kentucky History and Family Craftsmanship
Founded in 1992, Knob Creek was named after a stream near Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home in Kentucky. Created by 6th Generation Master Distiller Booker Noe, the brand sought to restore the robust, pre-prohibition style of bourbon. Today, this legacy continues under 7th Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe and 8th Generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe. This new release not only honors a national milestone but also highlights 230 years of family legacy and contributions to American whiskey making by the James B. Beam Distilling Co.

100 Proof Excellence: Reclaiming the Bourbon Standard
In terms of craftsmanship, the liquid quality of this edition matches the award-winning standards of the regular 9-year expression. Inspired by the Bottled-in-Bond Act, which set high standards for the industry, the whiskey is aged for nine years in new American white oak barrels and bottled at 100 proof. Tasting notes reveal a captivating copper and amber hue, with aromas of toasted nuts, grain, and oak. The palate offers rich, sweet woody flavors with fruity undertones, finishing with a long, warm, and lingering aftertaste.
