Kavalan Debuts Peated Whisky Highball RTD Exclusively in Japan
Taiwan's Kavalan Distillery enters the RTD market with a dry Peated Whisky Highball exclusive to Lawson stores across Japan. This 320ml RTD features a 7% ABV and uses Kavalan's award-winning peated whisky as a base, blended with soda water and no added sugar. The base whisky won the 'Best of the Best' Single Malt award at the 2024 Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition.
CEO Yu-Ting Lee stated this limited edition Highball celebrates Japanese Highball culture while appealing to global enthusiasts. Using premium peated whisky at 50% to 59.9% ABV, Kavalan achieved a harmony of smoky and tropical fruit notes. The packaging in deep purple and champagne gold symbolizes this flavor profile.
Japan's RTD market is growing rapidly, especially among younger consumers, prompting international brands to enter. Established in 2005, Kavalan has overcome Taiwan's tropical climate to earn global recognition. This RTD launch marks a new chapter, aligning with the 'premiumization' trend in the Japanese market.
