Jack Daniel's Releases Distillery Series #17 High Angel's Share Whiskey

Exploring the Concentrated Flavors of Coy Hill Rickhouse Top Floor: Distillery Series #17 Makes a Stunning Debut

Jack Daniel's has officially announced the release of its new Distillery Series #17, bringing a cask-strength, High Angel's Share Straight Tennessee Whiskey. Sourced from the top floor of Barrelhouse Coy Hill at the Lynchburg distillery in Tennessee, this unique expression fully showcases the flavor evolution brought by a distinct aging environment and natural forces.

Originally barreled in 2016 and aged on the top floor of Coy Hill's Barrelhouse 1-13, this whiskey experienced high temperatures year-round, resulting in significant evaporation and an exceptionally high Angel's Share. Master Distiller Chris Fletcher noted that nature drove this aging process, with the intense heat driving deep wood interaction and concentrating the liquid to offer a completely new depth and character compared to traditional Tennessee Whiskey.

Cask Strength and Official Tasting Notes

Selected by taster Dale McGee, this batch was bottled at a cask strength of 138.4 proof in 375ml bottles. Official tasting notes describe aromas of brown sugar, banana nut bread, and subtle hints of maple syrup, complemented by a long, warm finish rich in oak and warming spices, embodying an intensely rich profile.

As part of Jack Daniel's experimental and limited-release series, Distillery Series #17 highlights the distillery's ongoing spirit of innovation. Established in 1866 and registered by the U.S. government, the Jack Daniel Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the United States, renowned globally for its diverse product line and long-standing distilling craftsmanship.
