Highland Park Partners with Chef Björn Frantzén for New Whisky Release

Orkney's famous whisky distillery Highland Park has announced a collaboration with three-Michelin-starred chef Björn Frantzén to launch a new 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky named Between You and I. This unique concept for the collaboration eschews traditional tasting notes, instead focusing on guiding consumers to explore the emotions and personal sensory memories evoked by the whisky.

Björn Frantzén stated that the tasting experience of this whisky is like a dialogue between memory, flavor, and place, evoking his times in the kitchen with his grandmother, the leisurely atmosphere of tropical beaches, and the quiet sounds of a fading campfire in the forest. This personalized approach to tasting perfectly aligns with Frantzén's creative philosophy.

This 16-year-old whisky, in addition to being matured in virgin Swedish oak casks which Highland Park is using for the first time, also incorporates maturation in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks and ex-Bourbon casks. The label design was personally created by Frantzén, incorporating his interest in spray paint art.

Paul Condron, Highland Park's Brand Director, added that Between You and I encourages people to share their personal tasting notes and the resonance the whisky brings them, whether it's a precious memory or a favorite song. This signifies a new, more personal and emotionally rich whisky tasting experience.

Björn Frantzén is the only chef globally to hold three Michelin stars simultaneously across three different restaurants. In addition to this 16-year-old whisky, a 17-year-old whisky named Between You and I Journeys will also be exclusively launched in the global travel retail market on the same day.
