The Glenturret: Oldest Distillery Keeps 2 Michelin Stars

Heritage of Whisky and Fine Dining: A Star-Studded Feast in Scotland's Oldest Distillery

The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant has successfully retained its two Michelin stars in the "Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2026" announced on February 9. Located within The Glenturret, Scotland's oldest working distillery, the restaurant once again proves the exceptional culinary prowess of Executive Chef Mark Donald and his team.

Having trained in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, Executive Chef Mark Donald expertly combines Scotland’s rich local produce with international flavors. He noted that retaining two stars reflects the team's passion for innovation and meticulous detail, expressing pride in showcasing Scotland’s finest dining to a global audience.

Opened in 2021, the restaurant is a forward-thinking concept that seamlessly blends traditional whisky culture with modern fine dining. It earned its first Michelin star just seven months after opening and was awarded its second in February 2024, solidifying its place among Scotland's elite dining establishments.

Combining Natural Resources with Local Craftsmanship

Situated on the banks of the River Turret, the restaurant makes full use of Scotland’s abundant natural resources. The team works closely with local artisans, producers, and fishermen, and even forages in the surrounding wilderness to ensure the menu presents the finest seasonal flavors from across Scotland and the UK.

Guests can extend their experience by staying at Aberturret House, located on-site. Reservations for 2026 are now open, inviting whisky and food enthusiasts to experience world-class star-rated dining within the historic walls of The Glenturret.
