Art Meets Heritage: Compass Box and Karen Gillan Revisit the Hedonism Classic

Renowned independent bottler Compass Box has officially announced the Hedonism 2026 limited edition Blended Grain Scotch Whisky, featuring Scottish actress Karen Gillan, known for her roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Who, as the year's inspirational muse. Artist Emma Hack designed the label, integrating Karen Gillan's image into the bottle art to perfectly blend Scottish heritage with female creativity.

When Hedonism debuted in 2000, it set a record as the first Scotch whisky to feature a woman as the central figure of its label and pioneered the global category of Blended Grain whisky, famed for its silky texture and sweet layers. Since 2023, the brand has transitioned it into an annual limited release series, collaborating with different female artists each year to reinterpret the brand's classic female imagery from fresh perspectives, continuing its forward-thinking creative spirit in the whisky world.

A Deep Symphony of Aged Spirits and Sherry Casks

The Hedonism 2026 release utilizes several rare aged spirits, including 30-year-old whisky from the Strathclyde distillery, alongside 20 to 24-year-old spirits from Port Dundas and Cameronbridge. For the first time, this expression incorporates Sherry cask components, imparting notes of cherries and raisins. The aroma is rich with clove spice cake and toffee, while the palate reveals complex layers of coffee and cocoa butter. Creative Director Angela D’Orazio noted that this 13,126-bottle limited release is richer and deeper than previous versions, making it a truly representative masterpiece for the brand.
