Gathering Global Fan Faces: A PX Sherry Tribute to Islay's Festival Legend

Independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co has announced the release of Big Peat Fèis Ìle 2026, a small-batch limited edition single malt Scotch whisky designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Islay's iconic festival, Fèis Ìle. This special bottling is a tribute to the spirit, community, and passion of the pilgrims who transform the island into a whisky celebration every year, showcasing Islay at its most vibrant.

The packaging for this limited edition continues Big Peat's tradition of uniting its supporters. The label features a mosaic design composed of photos submitted by fans worldwide, with every face contributing to the iconic bearded Islay character. Just as every drop makes a great whisky, every supporter is part of the Big Peat story. This presentation is the ultimate tribute to the Islay community and the global whisky family.

Craft Details: The Perfect Fusion of PX Sherry Casks and Cask Strength

In terms of craft, this edition selects single malts from renowned Islay distilleries and finishes them in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, adding rich depth and sophistication. Bottled at a 52.6% ABV cask strength, it pairs signature peat and smoke with notes of dried figs, roasted coffee, and cocoa, leading to a long, silky finish that showcases the brand's uncompromising power.

Brand Manager Chloe Wood noted that the 40th anniversary of Fèis Ìle is a major milestone. By bringing together the faces of fans, the brand hopes to celebrate the contributions of its supporters over the years. This limited edition perfectly captures the unique character, craftsmanship, and deep Islay connection that Big Peat represents, making it the ideal commemoration of the festival's history.
