Baker Beam's Distilling Career and Brand Heritage
Baker Beam is the grandnephew of legendary distiller Jim Beam. Growing up around the Jim Beam Distillery campus in Clermont, Kentucky, he began his career during high school as a night watchman before steadily working his way up to become a distiller for Jim Beam. The brand describes Baker as someone who never sought the spotlight, preferring to carry a wrench and flashlight while quietly ensuring consistent bourbon production. He retired after 38 years with the distillery.
The Baker's brand was originally introduced in 1992 by Baker's cousin Booker Noe. Recognized as the father of small batch bourbon, Booker Noe developed the Small Batch Collection in Boston, Kentucky, creating Baker's as one of the collection's original ultra-premium bourbons. Today, Baker's Bourbon is part of the Jim Beam portfolio under Suntory Global Spirits, alongside fellow Small Batch Collection labels Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, and Booker's.
