Auchentoshan Scotch Whisky Unveils Revamped Packaging and New 12-Year-Old Double Cask
Suntory Global Spirits' Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch Whisky range has recently undergone a modernization of its packaging, simultaneously launching the new Auchentoshan 12-Year-Old Double Cask, which will replace the brand's current 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The Auchentoshan distillery is renowned for its unique triple distillation process, the only distillery in the Scotch whisky industry to adhere to this method. This packaging overhaul aims to attract more new consumers to the single malt whisky category while also seeking to build deeper connections with existing brand enthusiasts. Highlights of the new packaging include a richly layered brand logo, a triple distillation icon accented with copper foil, and clear pronunciation guides and detailed cask information on the label.
Kirsteen Beeston, Senior Global Brand Director for Scotch and Irish Whiskies at Suntory Global Spirits, stated, "As the Scotch whisky category continues to evolve, we've reimagined Auchentoshan to reflect its modern identity whilst staying true to its traditional roots." She added, "This new visual identity, and the liquid within, are designed to highlight, educate, and most importantly, encourage responsible drinking."
The brand has also made strides in environmental efforts, successfully reducing greenhouse gas emissions per bottle by 16.9% through lighter glass bottles. The labels now utilize a single material, recycled content, and are made from FSC-certified paper.
The new 12-Year-Old Double Cask whisky has been matured in ex-bourbon American oak and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Discussing the new expression, Auchentoshan's Master Blender, Dr Calum Fraser, praised it for "truly embodying the beauty of the triple distillation process. It allows the flavors to come through early in maturation, which is particularly exciting for a 12-year-old." The official flavor profile describes notes of sweet pastry and lemon zest, accompanied by oak, citrus, lime, and a distinct ginger finish.
