Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 7 Released as Final Chapter of the Series
Moet-Hennessy announced that the 19-year-old Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 7 will serve as the final installment of the series, concluding the legendary lineup that first made a 19-year-old Ardbeg a regular release.
Each batch features slight variations in cask composition, with adjustments in the ratio of bourbon barrels to Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in unique flavor balances and profiles. Named after a beach on Islay-s south coast, the Traigh Bhan series retains Ardbeg-s classic characteristics while showcasing distinct personalities.
David Pender, Ardbeg-s Whisky Stocks and Blending Manager, stated, Exploring the differences between batches is a fascinating journey, and we hope fans will experience the same thrill with this final edition.
The official press release notes that Batch 7 uses the highest proportion of first-fill sherry casks in the series, delivering bold smoky flavors—salty toffee, espresso, and warm spices. Master Blender Gillian MacDonald emphasized, The final edition amplifies its character with more sherry casks and higher alcohol content, providing a perfect conclusion to the series.
