2026 SIP Awards: Nine American Whiskeys Win Best of Class
Consumer Blind Tasting Perspective: Nine American Whiskeys Earn Highest Honors
The renowned SIP Awards spirits competition has announced its 2026 winners. Unlike typical panels made up of industry experts, this competition relies entirely on consumer judges, offering a genuine consumer perspective to select outstanding works across categories such as American whiskey, rum, and cocktails. This year, nine American whiskeys stood out, earning the highest "Best of Class" honor.
These nine winning expressions vary widely in style, spanning historic traditional distilleries, independent craft brands, and even creations blending celebrity appeal with innovative craftsmanship. For instance, Kentucky's new distillery General Thomas introduced a tech-forward barrel-proof bourbon; Heaven Hill's Elijah Craig and the specially oak-finished Grain to Glass series both made the list, demonstrating the diverse facets of bourbon whiskey.

Crossover Collaborations and Special Series Shine
In addition, the list features several highly anticipated special series and crossover collaborations. Founded by the late master distiller Lincoln Henderson, Angel's Envy brought its Cellar Collection finished in tequila barrels; Colorado's Stranahan's presented a high-altitude aged 12-year-old American single malt whiskey; and pop icon Beyoncé's SirDavis Whisky, created in partnership with Moët Hennessy, also won over judges with its unique rye and malt mash bill.
The list also includes the legendary Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, the buzzworthy Wenzel Distillery Honey Barrel-Finished Bourbon, and the light, sweet-styled Bubba's Marshmallow Chocolate Flavored Whiskey. These award-winning expressions vary widely in origin, raw materials, and production techniques, fully showcasing the vibrant diversity of today's American whiskey market.
