Nose: Full and inviting with raisins, dates and orange peel. Beneath that, the lighter Auchentoshan style remains nicely recognisable, with apple, soft malt and a touch of citrus. The oloroso finish adds extra layers of caramel, milk chocolate, cinnamon and polished oak.

Palate: Rounded and smooth with dried fruit, toffee and dark honey. Orange, fig and gentle spice then come forward, together with a light nuttiness and a touch of cocoa. The first fill oloroso sherry butts clearly bring richness and colour, while the whisky keeps enough freshness and elegance.

Finish: Medium to long, warm and slightly dry. Sherried sweetness, orange peel, soft oak and spice linger nicely. It closes elegantly with cocoa, raisin and a gentle Lowland softness.
