Tormore 酒廠強勢回歸!Elixir Distillers 發表全新單一麥芽系列 | Tormore Distillery makes its comeback with single malts

Tormore Distillery: New Elixir Distillers Single Malt Range

Beyond Blending: Tormore Emerges as a Speyside Single Malt Star

Located in the Cromdale Hills at the heart of Speyside, the Tormore distillery has officially announced its return to the single malt whisky market following its acquisition by Elixir Distillers in 2022. Under its previous owner, Pernod Ricard, the distillery's production was primarily used as base spirit for blends like Ballantine’s and Chivas Regal. Now, driven by Elixir Distillers, the distillery is dedicated to uncovering long-overlooked potential, unveiling a new core range as part of a major brand relaunch.

First Core Range Release: Showcasing Pure Fruity Character

The initial launch includes Tormore 12 Year Old, Tormore 16 Year Old Sherry Cask, and Tormore Timeless. The entire range maintains natural color and is non-chill filtered, emphasizing the distillery's signature fruity character. Tormore Timeless showcases elegant notes of vanilla and peach; Tormore 12 Year Old combines Bourbon and custom Sherry casks to deliver rich nut and ripe pear flavors; while Tormore 16 Year Old offers layers of blackberry jam and vanilla fudge, paying tribute to the distillery's heritage of Sherry cask maturation since 1959.

Founder Sukhinder Singh stated that the team has optimized barley and fermentation details to create a high-quality "enhanced" Tormore. Master Blender Oliver Chilton emphasized that the distillery's philosophy is to select casks carefully to avoid excessive oak influence interfering with the delicate, fruity spirit. Furthermore, the distillery plans to release higher-age expressions in 2027. Meanwhile, the group is preparing Portintruan, a new distillery on Islay, managed by former Lagavulin manager Georgie Crawford, demonstrating its ambition for industry expansion.
