Paul John Presents 2025 Christmas Limited Edition Eighth Festive Surprise
Renowned Indian distillery John Distilleries is delighted to announce the launch of its eighth annual limited edition release – the Paul John Christmas Edition 2025. This non-peated Indian single malt whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a secondary maturation in Cream Casks. This release is globally limited to 6,254 bottles.
Bottled at 48% ABV and presented non-chill filtered and without added caramel colouring, the spirit retains its purest flavours. As an award-winning Indian producer, Paul John Whisky continues its tradition of highly anticipated festive limited editions with this latest release.
Paul John Whisky’s production facility is located in Goa, India. The region’s unique tropical climate provides exceptional conditions for accelerated whisky maturation. The high temperature and humidity significantly enhance the interaction between the spirit and the oak, speeding up the maturation process. Compared to the cooler climates of traditional whisky regions like Scotland or Ireland, Goa’s climate allows for faster development of complex flavour profiles.
John Distilleries plays a pivotal role in the burgeoning Indian single malt whisky category, which has garnered significant international acclaim over the past decade.
According to the brand’s official tasting notes, the Christmas Edition 2025 presents a deep amber hue with flashes of crimson gold. The aroma reveals notes of ripe plums, dark cherries, candied citrus peel, and orange blossom honey, complemented by gentle undertones of toffee, cocoa, and nutmeg. On the palate, it offers a balanced interplay of sweet notes from apples, stone fruits, caramel, toasted nuts, and tropical fruits, enriched with layers of spiced rum, butterscotch, and dark caramel. The finish is long and creamy, showcasing sweet oak, molasses, dried berries, and a subtle hint of festive cake.
