Bushmills 推出全球最古老46年Single Malt愛爾蘭威士忌
Bushmills Irish Whiskey recently unveiled its oldest single malt Irish whiskey to date—a 46-year-old 'Secrets of The River Bush.' Limited to just 300 bottles, this release marks a significant milestone for the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery.
Master Blender Alex Thomas emphasized the historical significance of this whiskey, stating that it is not only a smooth and rare single malt but also a testament to history. Aged patiently for 46 years, this whiskey showcases rich flavors and a deep hue, representing the pinnacle of Bushmills' craftsmanship.
This ultra-premium whiskey pays homage to the River Bush, which has flowed through the heart of Bushmills since its founding in 1608 and is crucial to the production of every drop of Bushmills whiskey. Thomas noted that without this river, there would be no Bushmills whiskey, as the two are inseparable.
This rare single malt is crafted from Bushmills' most precious 1978 distillate and aged for nearly half a century in Oloroso sherry casks from Antonio Paez Lobato Cooperage in Jerez, Spain, giving it a deep mahogany color. Its aroma features ripe dark fruits, sweet apricots, caramel, and gentle oak, while the palate offers rich spices like cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, complemented by sweet black cherries and apricots. The finish is marked by notes of roasted coffee, oak, and warm toffee.
Thomas also highlighted the role of time in shaping this whiskey and paid tribute to the team that stored the distillate 46 years ago, emphasizing their legacy's importance to this single malt.
The packaging of 'Secrets of the River Bush' is equally exquisite, featuring a handcrafted hexagonal display box made of walnut, with topographic elements honoring the River Bush, the village of Bushmills, and its surrounding landscape. A central gold engraving depicts the river's path to the Old Bushmills Distillery, a route that predates the distillery's founding in 1608.
