Online tasting note for reference:
Nose: Lots of fruit from the wine cask, like plum and red berries, with a more candy-like note reminiscent of wine gums; a whiff of gunpowder, hints of smoked bacon and espresso, sootiness and wood smoke; clearly influenced by the Bordeaux/Margaux red wine with blackcurrants, fresh red plums, raspberries and old roses, sweet yet with a balsamic touch, earthy smoke and roast meat.
Palate: Dark and complex, with berries and black forest gateau, dark smokiness and some gunpowder, very syrupy mouthfeel; notes of kirsch liqueur and balsamic vinegar, quite vinous with red fruits in a jammy style alongside a slightly tannic, bitter edge, espresso, sour cherries, cranberries and pipe tobacco, with peat playing a secondary role.
Finish: Long and lingering on red fruits and smoke, with sour fruits, spices and earthy, peppery smoke coming through strongly on the palate.
