Online tasting note for reference:
Nose: Bursting with classic Laphroaig peat smoke which has been wrapped around chew caramel toffee, a touch of salt and a cocktail of mild yellow fruit. The nose opens with notes of seaweed, sardines, brine, and the aroma of Arbroath smokies and barbecue, alongside vanilla ice cream and a little sea salt spray.
Palate: A dram which shows older than its years. The balance of peat versus sweet has to be enjoyed to be believed. Bright with fresh yellow fruit, a touch of freshly squeezed lemon juice and zingy white pepper ground over an open flame. The palate delivers plenty of dry wood smoke and iodine, balanced by sweetness from lemon, lime, and sugar syrup. A distinct brininess and salinity emerge on the mid-palate.
Finish: So so long. It showcases every aspect of this incredible dram to perfection. Not a finish, but a celebration! The finish is of medium length, with lingering smoke and sweetness, accompanied by a touch of cardamom spice.
